seriously. i played 6 30$ sng's. 5 HU, one multitable. i lost every single one, and i did so going broke with the best hand pre and post flop every time.
pure savage and relentless injustice, absolutely amazing beats.
so obv i realize there is no point in prolonging the inevitable so i take my last 200$ and hit a real lively 2/4 plo game. got down to about 90$, climbed back to 120$, then back down to 100$... ground to like 135$, when the following took place;
im dealt AsTsQd6d. decent holdings in late position.
anyway a six max table, seat 5, 3 limpers in front, i call, no point in making a big pot, just going to get looked up anyway. then the small blind pops it to 22$. 3 callers, including myself.
my first read was KKxx or obv AAxx, i was leaning towards kings as i had an ace but its not like i havent seen AAxx v AAxx enough times before..
flop is KcQs8d. i have bottom 2pr and 2 backdoor flushes. basically i have dogshit against any reasonable hand like AKQJ or KKxx, 88xx, QQxx, AJT9, the list goes on and on.
thing is, everyone checks it around.
so now im just confused, i really have no idea where i am in this hand.
turn is a 6c, putting a 2 flush on board (not mine).
small blind pots, 100$. so there is 200$ in the pot. folded to me, with 113$ behind me.
my first read was he flopped top set, but why would he check that flop? any reasonable holding would include an OESD, why give them a free card? was he checking to price them out on a brick turn?
or was this a defensive bet? did he have a scared pair of aces that he was worried wouldnt survive a club river? or did he have AcAxx with the nut flush draw?
because i beat an over pair, and because i dont think top set checks that flop, i shoved.
incredibly, he had literally nothing. Ah9h5c4c. he had a 5 high club flush draw, and a gutshot.
river was a Qh, filling me up. i took down about 330$. i hit another couple of small pots and checked out on my BB with 355$.
god i hate short stacking plo these days. the pressure is such murder. things were so much easier when i had crazy dot com money, i could really afford to drop 400$ on prima and shortstack 5/10 games against hypercrazy euros. now, my roll is, well, my roll. rebuys are not really an option.
so why throw it on the line at bodog? why not cash out?
ill be honest with you; if im going busto, i want it to be fast and clean. i dont want to spend a fucking week watching people tear away at tiny pieces of my flesh at microstakes. now at prima, im practicing responsible BR management, im not taking shots there, because as of now i can play .25/.50 plo semi responsibly and its working out. on bodog, when you get torn for half your BR without ever getting your money in bad, im just saying, its go time. cashing out 200$ when i deposited 300$ isnt an option, its not worth the depression.
better to take a stab under the circumstances, plus i still have mtt money on stars and plo money on prima.
speaking of prima, made a little money tonight there; current roll is about 670.
so yeah, decent night.
