ok, a nice long break.
today will probably be my last day of online poker for a while, possibly a few weeks, at least for any grownup money.
i cashed out 300 from stars, leaving just enough to buy into one more 109$ HORSE plus satted into the 100k today, bought into the 100$ sunday tourn on bodog and bustod the rest of my roll there, and of course have nothing on prima atm.
so my total cash roll is about 2400$.
looks like im heading to LA next friday for my birthday!
i plan on sticking with 9/18 LHE and 4/8 stud (maybe) and hopefully chipping up enough to finance some quality time at 20/40 LHE later on saturday/sunday afternoon, but you know, who knows how that will go..
after expenses, i should have about 1800-2000$ cash, so if i dont run bad, i should be able to sit at 20/40 by saturday night.
it would be nice to make money at the end of this trip but the thing about playing mid-stakes limit poker with west coast asians is you either win huge or lose huge, rarely the middle ground.
plus flight = 250, room = 250.. food + transpo are at least another 150.. so off the bat im spending half a rack just to get there and back.
that fuckin blows but its worth it to see my parents, get out of town, and play some live poker for a weekend. plus ive heard about the commerce for years and its high time i made my trip to mecca.
booking flights today.

ok, might be done for a while again.
the last two days have been an orchestra of grief.
i played terribly in the 109$ HORSE last night and went out early, which seems to be a basic theme for me post-victory.
no big deal tho. i then made 100$ or so playing 2/4 stud, at which point i decided i was a stud genius and decided to mutltable 3/6 stud (2 tables) with 100$ on each.
yeahhhh.. didnt really work out so hot. twice i had houses run into quads, for example. another huge pot was me making a set of 9's on 5th street as my opponent got his flush. i did not fill up of course.
straight < aces full.
under house < overhouse.
just went on and on and on, ended the night -100$ overall.
today ive been treading water in cash games and donated 33$ to a 215$ HORSE sat.
at this point i really think my best play is to cash out 300$ from the remaining 460$ or so.. i dont know, i have to think about it.
i also want to play the 109$ HORSE again tonight but god im running so bad.. seems like it would be a waste of money.

..or not!
Dear sonat1ne,
You finished the tournament in 3rd place.
A $560.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
i was chip leader by a friggin mile for the hour or so, then i got wrapped up in 2 with goldfish while we were 3 handed that dropped me to my knees. the first one hit me from around 35k to 10k, it wasnt a great moment for me. i made 2pr on 5th street and was ahead, but goldfish caught up on the river for jacks up to my lower 2pr. it was a great read otherwise.
i then doubled up through him with A high finding a second ace on 7th.
the last hand, well, i hadnt been catching cards in a while and when one runs cold, often its natural to assume other people are making moves when they are simply running hot.
i went to war with 99 in the hole, he had pocket jacks. i didnt improve, and he in fact made 2pr on the riv.
overall i really liked my play tonight. i kept it in my pants pretty much and didnt overcommit or do anything. i was 3rd from the bottom for some time, and i stayed calm and picked my spots, and in the end i made a super deep run.
i could have been more patient when we were 3 handed. im quite sure i could have made 2nd at least if i was. golfdish was running real hot, i could have stayed out of his way, or at least picked a stronger position to take a stand with.
but overall i have to really say im pleased with how i performed and with the results, and i think that next time ill be less inclined to repeat my mistakes.
anyway, i want to give some serious thought to how i want to proceed.
i have 3 options;
cash out say, 300$ and hope to spin up the rest in MTTland.
take the 600$ in my roll and hit up some 3-6 and 5-10 HORSE cash games, low stakes mtts, sngs, etc, with the intent of putting profits towards the 109$ HORSE buyins.
just keep joining the 109$ and hope i catch another deep run before i go busted.
#3 seems like the worst option. #2 sounds like it has potential.. #1 sounds like an admission of defeat...

ok, done for a while.
i really fucked up tonight; i was chip leader in the HORSE tourn with 9 left, 6 get paid, and guess who goes out 8th.
snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. i had a *sloppy* LHE round where i had the best hand obliterated every time, it was just obscene. i started the LHE round with about 16500 chips, 500/1000 IIRC.. and by the time stud came around, i was down to about 6000.
i picked up AsTsAc5h in the BB, got into a reraise war after deciding i was going to chip up or go home. flop was like, 8J9, 1 spade. i was almost positive i was up against something like A2KK or A2KQ or even A23A..
Ks on the turn gives me broadway straight draw and nut flush draw, so we get it all in.
just like last night, fucker flips 88xx (i was too horrified to notice the other cards). river Kh fills him up, and im out like whoa.
so obv i have to lose 120$ playing 3/6 2-7 triple draw. it was fucking merciless, i didnt even play badly. smooth 8? meet 76542. i faced the wheel on 2 occasions as well, and every time i started out with not one but occasionally *two* deuces in my hand. i kept on improving every draw, then id notice some bastard standing pat the last draw and everytime, he had the goods.
so no more of that. not for a while.
i go to prima, and i see a 2/4 plo game with a 231$ average pot. i have 140$ in my poker roll there, 300$ in my sportsbook that i 'protected' last time i got raped up. sit with my 140. get it in HU against a huge stack who flips KK37 vs my AA56.
flop: K53, etc etc.
oh and there was the 50$ HU nlhe sng on bodog then, where 44 did not beat JJ.
look im not going to add up the numbers for what i lost tonight, its not that type of party, not anymore.
i cashed out 500$ from stars, i have about 140$ left there. im going to take another stab at the horse tomorrow night then probably piss away the remainder, maybe i can sat into a tourn with the FPP's ive accrued lately.
as far as prima goes, you know, whatever. i deposited 200, withdrew the 200$ + 600$ more, plus i got 500$ out of a 200$ stars deposit thats only now been dropped down to 140$ after all... i cant complain. and if karo wins april 2nd, ill be back up to about 375$ on prima i think, which is more than enough to start grinding up again.
so yeah its all about bodog now. i do have enough to join the sunday 100$ MTT there, i will probably do that and see how things go.
if they go like i expect, im just going to be taking some time off from poker, at least for substantial money, until i (possibly) head to reno for my birthday (or LA actually...).
or, more likely, ill end up taking the sum cash ive cashed out (1200$ about), and using that plus some of my next paycheck for a down payment on a used Kia or Saturn.
and hey, if i money in the horse tourn tomorrow (really pretty realistic if i play solid and stop FUCKING UP LIKE A GODDAMNED CHIMP) then anything goes.
besides, im looking forward to not dicking around with poker for a spell. im not sleeping well and work has been a savage and hellish nightmare. so yeah its time to take my foot off the pedal and cool off probably.
i made some money, it was a successful run.
i think i can do better, maybe. or maby not. im starting to wonder seriously if my edge is really substantial enough to really make enough money to justify the effort.
i do feel like everytime i make one of these runs, i get a little further. eventually im going to end up on a more consistent profit arc that affords me the chance to move up into substantial cash games, for example.
if youre profiting 1BB an hour consistently in a 20/40 stud game, after all, thats 240$ for 6 hours of playing poker. thats real money. one big win in a tourn, and thats something to really consider.
i dont know, im really spacey right now. cheers.

et tu, 2-7 triple low draw?
man, wtf...
last night was fucked.. UP.
ok so i join the 109$ HORSE again about 45 minutes before it starts. by the time its running, ive made back the buyin playing 3/6 2-7 triple draw, so im basically freerolling.
then the tourn starts. first thing i notice, there are 47 people in it. this is not the comfy little field i hoped for. next thing i notice, the table im at is packed with total rockstars. eg: perljammed, who ranks 99.99% in tourn rankings on stars.
so im already uneasy. whatever tho, i play my game and by the time the first break ends, im chip leader. not only because im catching acceptable cards but because everyone at the table is pretty much either a total donator or a NLHE rockstar and playing like complete chimps game but LHE. so im really stacking up in razz, stud, etc.
then things get.. complicated.
first hand after break i get dealt KK in LHE. awesome. i raise, in the CO. i get 2 callers; both blinds. donk the flop QJ4 flop, SB folds, BB calls. 9 turn, donk, and get reraised by BB. what.. the.. fuck? QJ? J9? i 3 bet because i have outs, and because its standard dbag procedure to CR the turn with *any* piece of the flop, putting me on AK or a pocketpair, and the BB was indeed a monsterous dbag. he 4bets and im like, christ, ok fine, so i call, and cc a brick river.
he flips T8o. yes, he peeled HU with a gutshot.
and there goes my chip lead. now im in 6th place (still in the money), but the problem is that these total jokes are stacking off to eachother like crazy, and im not in a position to capitolize on this until i end up in the following exchange in razz:
a K showing brings in, i raise next with 42 A. folded back to the K, who calls.
4th st brings K4 to my right, i get a 7 for a smooth seven low draw. K4 *bets*.
really? ...really?? i figured he just wanted to stack off and go home so we get in a RR war.
5th st: xxK49 42 A79
again, i RR, and we get into yet another war. i get him all in (hes covered), but im left with about 1/4th of my original stack behind.
6th st: xxK498 42 A79J
uh oh... you gotta be fucking kidding.
thats right folks, i score a K on 7th and nuclear douchebag nails a 6 and shows a 5A in the hole for a 8 low to my whatever.
i play close to the vest and manage to chip up briefly in stud, then i flop top two on a QT8 (two spades) board with a backdoor low, end up busting against 88xx with no low coming.
just totally gruesome insane bad play all around, hands i werent even involved in were tilting me the whole tourn.
armageddon occured shortly thereafter courtesy of the 5/10 2-7 triple draw game, where i lost 300$ in about an hour largely due to me being a totally ignorant fuckwit as to basic strat. going to read up more on it today, hopefully that should help.
im also not ready to give up on the horse tourns; im going to take another stab or two at it i guess but i promised God last night i would cash out 500$ on principle, and so i will tonight.
i do plan on playing out of my roll in the cash HORSE games tho, i seem to have a sustainable edge there, but i will also be realllllly looking for holes in my game for the next few days...
anyway, to cap things off, i lost a buyin at .50/1 PLO on prima, which suuuuucked since i was up half a BI when nbugu joined and proceed to stack me off in a major way when i stubbornly refused to give him credit for his top set, assuming he was going to war with a draw.
dumb read = no chips. selah.
hope tonight goes better.

so im already uneasy. whatever tho, i play my game and by the time the first break ends, im chip leader. not only because im catching acceptable cards but because everyone at the table is pretty much either a total donator or a NLHE rockstar and playing like complete chimps game but LHE. so im really stacking up in razz, stud, etc.
then things get.. complicated.
first hand after break i get dealt KK in LHE. awesome. i raise, in the CO. i get 2 callers; both blinds. donk the flop QJ4 flop, SB folds, BB calls.
6th st: xxK498 42 A79J
uh oh... you gotta be fucking kidding.
thats right folks, i score a K on 7th and nuclear douchebag nails a 6 and shows a 5A in the hole for a 8 low to my whatever.
i play close to the vest and manage to chip up briefly in stud, then i flop top two on a QT8 (two spades) board with a backdoor low, end up busting against 88xx with no low coming.
just totally gruesome insane bad play all around, hands i werent even involved in were tilting me the whole tourn.
armageddon occured shortly thereafter courtesy of the 5/10 2-7 triple draw game, where i lost 300$ in about an hour largely due to me being a totally ignorant fuckwit as to basic strat. going to read up more on it today, hopefully that should help.
im also not ready to give up on the horse tourns; im going to take another stab or two at it i guess but i promised God last night i would cash out 500$ on principle, and so i will tonight.
i do plan on playing out of my roll in the cash HORSE games tho, i seem to have a sustainable edge there, but i will also be realllllly looking for holes in my game for the next few days...
anyway, to cap things off, i lost a buyin at .50/1 PLO on prima, which suuuuucked since i was up half a BI when nbugu joined and proceed to stack me off in a major way when i stubbornly refused to give him credit for his top set, assuming he was going to war with a draw.
dumb read = no chips. selah.
hope tonight goes better.

i made a new friend!
why hello there, 2-7 triple draw!
sooooo fun. played it for the first time last night, and fell in love. played for about 25 minutes this morning, 3/6 limit, some pretty substantial swings but i ended up just under 2 BB. considering ive been playing for a total of 30 minutes before that, im intruiged...
joined the 109$ HORSE again last night. went out in 6th, top 4 paid. i was in second place for almost the entire tourn, then i went completely card dead for approximately the last 3rd of it. i just couldnt pick up a pot, any pot. i couldnt even get involved. given that i was able to make it to 6th place under the circumstances, ive decided to keep playing this tourn. also, after reviewing the stats of the regulars in it, i think i have pretty huge equity. its more money than i want to get involved with but its such a potentially good investment...
hit a 5/10 HORSE game after busting out in 6th and made back my buyin.
then i hit prima and gambled with 9TJQ against obv AAxx for stacks. flop TKx, which is just about all i can ask for, but a K turn and brick river put me down, AAAx took down the pot. i decided not to chase (there), so i went to bodog and won a 33$ HU NLHE sng.
really cool final hand, checked the BB with 35o, flop is 6s4s8c. sb bets the pot, i have him covered and i call. turn is a 2h, giving me the second nuts. sb goes all in. im expecting to see 57, possibly of spades, but he tables 24 of spades for bottom two and flush draw.
8h river and im just about even for the night.
lost 20$ dicking around with 2-7 triple draw last night (a learning experience, dont you know), so i ended the night down about 25$, then won 10$ back this morning.
its all good in the hood.
if i can make it home in time, ill be in the 109$ HORSE again tonight most def, very much looking forward to some 2-7 triple draw as well.

strikin while the irons hot
took my roll (74$) to a 5/10 stud hi table, played HU with some cat with 200$.
after about 30 minutes, i had 220$ to his 50$. im not a big fan of hitting and running but i *am* a big fan of quitting ahead instead of giving back money you outplayed someone for. i just dont dig extended HU sessions, even when im running well. after you lose a few big pots, the tilt is too ugly, it can impact my play for days.
so i apologized and gave him about 20 hands warning that i was bouncing.
against some players on some sites i might just sit out and bounce (looking at you ftp) but the truth is, there is decorum involved in HU play, or there should be, and if you are going to bounce on a match after running hot, the least you can do is give notice.
and also, the truth is, im here to make some money. stash it away, bankroll some moves up in limits, hopefully put together a substantial enough roll someday to not be taking retarded shots when i want to sit in a juicy 20/40 LHE game or a 5/10 plo game. thats where substantial profits happen, like lifestyle changing profits.
everything between now and then is just prep work.
anyway, taking a breather, i might be done for the night.
solid weekends work tho.

even without the big win on stars, id be feeling very good right now.

choice. really thinking about cashing out 1k from stars and using the 1500$ for reno or for a down payment on a car... (probably the former with anything left over going to the latter).
taking a break for the day. 100$ up. came in 5th on the prima 1k leaderboard freeroll for 35$, took down 65$ playing 3/6 and 2/4 HORSE on stars.
i might take the 74$ on bodog and play a few 20$ NLHE HU sngs there. 74$ is such a weird amount of money tho. perhaps ill look for a 50$ MTT later tonight instead? deja vous. ok laundry + house cleaning time.

shot taking: serious business
really screwed the proverbial pooch last night.
long story short, i took some shots last night and they did not work out.
first, on bodog, i got tied up in some absurdly healthy pots but just couldnt survive fifth street. gg, bankroll. down to 90$ now on bodog, will spend it on MTTs and either busto or not. que sera sera.
and then, for good measure, i lost a third of my roll on prima. 2 buyins at .50/1 plo, 2 buyins at .25/.50.
typical hand; LAG raises i call, flop a house on a 733 board, 2 spades. i check to LAG, LAG bets with AAxx obv. i call, representing a flush draw. the problem with coming over the top on this flop is that hes not going to give me credit for the 3, hes going to look me up assuming im on the flush draw, and if im lucky he has AsXsAxXx. so the money is going into the pot here, its just a question of when.
and then of course i see the worst possible card on 4th st. A friggin ace, obv. cant fold here, pot committed, plus he is so aggro he could literally go to war with AK and a spade redraw here. yeah anyway aces full is good, gg.
i managed to recover a little coming in 2nd at a 50$ 6max turbo sng bringing me back up to 400$ and putting me -270 for the night on prima alone.
thats a sailors life i suppose.
ive taken 300$ of that and set it aside in their sportsbook, where it can be cashed out if the remaining 100$ goes away. one of my worst habits when im running bad and stupid is to refuse to cash out; i just end up tilting it off into the ether trying to chase losses. and as much as id love to take that 300$ to 5/10 plo and roll the dice, its not worth it. that 300$ can go much better places, including reno for my birthday later this month.
so yeah, rough night, -450 (made another 20$ in a limit sng on stars), but you know, taking shots is how i rolled up 200$ to 6500$ on my last run. investment is inherently risky.
and with the 100$ i have sitting in my poker roll on prima, i can probably rebuild at microstakes.
however, what i need to do for the immediate future is avoid cash games, period. i need to concentrate on MTTs. id rather lose 20$ after 3 hours with nothing to show for it than go broke after 3 hours. thats the magic of mtt's.
im also going to look to tune my sng skills.
anyway. as i mentioned, im thinking of doing reno on the 28th. i have 500$ cashed out, another 300$ that may well join it (500$ profit on a 300$ investment is fine with me), plus i should be able to toss another 1200$ at that number from my next paycheck.
thats 500$ for flight/cabs/food/room, and 1500$ for the 10/20 LHE game at the peppermill for a couple of days.
sounds like a good time to me.

bodog = the devil
seriously. i played 6 30$ sng's. 5 HU, one multitable. i lost every single one, and i did so going broke with the best hand pre and post flop every time.
pure savage and relentless injustice, absolutely amazing beats.
so obv i realize there is no point in prolonging the inevitable so i take my last 200$ and hit a real lively 2/4 plo game. got down to about 90$, climbed back to 120$, then back down to 100$... ground to like 135$, when the following took place;
im dealt AsTsQd6d. decent holdings in late position.
anyway a six max table, seat 5, 3 limpers in front, i call, no point in making a big pot, just going to get looked up anyway. then the small blind pops it to 22$. 3 callers, including myself.
my first read was KKxx or obv AAxx, i was leaning towards kings as i had an ace but its not like i havent seen AAxx v AAxx enough times before..
flop is KcQs8d. i have bottom 2pr and 2 backdoor flushes. basically i have dogshit against any reasonable hand like AKQJ or KKxx, 88xx, QQxx, AJT9, the list goes on and on.
thing is, everyone checks it around.
so now im just confused, i really have no idea where i am in this hand.
turn is a 6c, putting a 2 flush on board (not mine).
small blind pots, 100$. so there is 200$ in the pot. folded to me, with 113$ behind me.
my first read was he flopped top set, but why would he check that flop? any reasonable holding would include an OESD, why give them a free card? was he checking to price them out on a brick turn?
or was this a defensive bet? did he have a scared pair of aces that he was worried wouldnt survive a club river? or did he have AcAxx with the nut flush draw?
because i beat an over pair, and because i dont think top set checks that flop, i shoved.
incredibly, he had literally nothing. Ah9h5c4c. he had a 5 high club flush draw, and a gutshot.
river was a Qh, filling me up. i took down about 330$. i hit another couple of small pots and checked out on my BB with 355$.
god i hate short stacking plo these days. the pressure is such murder. things were so much easier when i had crazy dot com money, i could really afford to drop 400$ on prima and shortstack 5/10 games against hypercrazy euros. now, my roll is, well, my roll. rebuys are not really an option.
so why throw it on the line at bodog? why not cash out?
ill be honest with you; if im going busto, i want it to be fast and clean. i dont want to spend a fucking week watching people tear away at tiny pieces of my flesh at microstakes. now at prima, im practicing responsible BR management, im not taking shots there, because as of now i can play .25/.50 plo semi responsibly and its working out. on bodog, when you get torn for half your BR without ever getting your money in bad, im just saying, its go time. cashing out 200$ when i deposited 300$ isnt an option, its not worth the depression.
better to take a stab under the circumstances, plus i still have mtt money on stars and plo money on prima.
speaking of prima, made a little money tonight there; current roll is about 670.
so yeah, decent night.

ok thats cool
weird night. dropped a buyin at .25/.50 plo and decided i was playing pretty shitty, then bubbled in an MTT in heroically stupid fashion.
-65 on prima to 635.
however...
played 3 HU NLHE turbos on bodog, 20$, 50$, 5$. lost the cheapest, won the other two, so im.. even.
huh. ok thats cool.
turbo HU sng's are starting to grow on me. weiss was onto something there.
i think i might concentrate on bodog for sng's and look to prima for cash games. why are mtt's so satanic on bodog.. i seem to do very poorly in them.

general status update
Some good news this morning; my roll from b is now available. Im going to stick it on bodog tonight. The low limit plo is (imo) fairly choice. Good table selection is absolutely vital however. I checked out Absolute and will check it out tonight but it seems the stud/omaha/omaha8 low limit games are just dead, and Im not rolled by a longshot for the 5/10 and 10/20 LHE games, which btw are no ones idea of soft, and would require a great deal of serious study to gain an edge at. So Absolute is on permahold, although if I can grow my bodog roll, I might splice off some of it to AP in the future.
Joined a 33$ HORSE tourn on Stars and was in the top 5 of 85 players for nearly the entire first half, however as soon as the blinds hit substantial limits, I went utterly dead, plus I got halved on river in like 4 straight o8 pots that were massive, where I would turn the nut high, like broadway straight with no flush on a KT3A board, then an 8 on the riv would give some total fish half a pot the size of my whole stack. Every single time I turned the nut high, I either got rivered out of half or the whole pot. The thing about those tourns are, when the limits go up, its very hard to walk away from a 20+BB pot even tho youre getting sandwiched between reraisers with neither a nut high or nut low; often you have two nut lows going to war over quarters. So its difficult to fold when you have so much invested in the pot. Perhaps thats a hole in my game? Unsure...
Anyway yeah, that sucked.
The 500bb pot on Prima however did *not* suck. If I can get up to 1k, I might move up to .50/1. Thats 10 buyins, which clearly isnt optimal, plus the .50/1 games are really much tougher than .25/.50, but I can always drop back down if I hit end up down a few buyins and try to rebuild, and doubling up a buyin at .50/1 is such a substantial amount of money that the risk is outweighed by the rewards as I see it, pending brutal downswings etc. Again I think the key here is being flexible enough to drop down if I feel my edge is neglibable or illusory.
I keeping thinking of the good old days, where I would deposit 400$ and run it up to 1600-2000$ in 3 or 4 hands at 10/20 plo, or go bust and try again the next week. I made a lot of coin doing that, but I just dont have the skrill to support that business model anymore...
Anyway. Im going to cash out 50$ from my prima roll so the 200 + 50 will allow me to consider the bodog roll even(covering the original 250$ loss on b) just for aesthetics and to make the math a bit easier on my head.
bodog: 300 (even)
stars: 200 (even)
prima: +700 (Im not going to include sportsbets in this talley until they win or lose, so it will be another 3 weeks about before the Karo bet comes into play).
The thing about those tourns are, when the limits go up, its very hard to walk away from a 20+BB pot even tho youre getting sandwiched between reraisers with neither a nut high or nut low; often you have two nut lows going to war over quarters. things that are awesome: PLOLOLOL
so i decide to 'take a shot' at a .50/1 plo game. i get stacked for 100$ on the first hand, playing like a total moron of course. i flopped top/bottom pair and thought someone was on a draw when they repopped, despite having no read on them whatsoever. so yeah they had top set and that was that.
rebought. went down to about 50$, then worked my way back up to about 170$ and was considering calling it a night and writing off the 30$ to experience, when the entire table, including myself, caught retarded and decided to basically flip for stacks:

ran really, really well during the NWP tourn, made some very good laydowns (i think) and generally made only a few mistakes. came in 3rd out of a field of 25 pros to semi-pros, made 50$ there, plus another 20$ in a HU LHE sng, and won a 8 person 6.50$ HORSE sng for about 24$. donked out of the 100k early (real early, ugh), so -10$ there..

b hasnt processed my payment yet so i cant take my money to absolute or bodog. not sure where im taking it btw... getting a roll on absolute would be fucking choice but ill have to see how their low limit stud/omaha games are.
prima, i did really well in the 1000$ leaderboard tourn. came in 3rd for 75$. then, of course, i dropped 2 buyins at .25/.50, so i was -25$ for the day, but with rakeback im about even. i also put 275$ on karo for Ultimate Fight Night on April 2, as prima had the best line on him i could find (strangely).
current prima: 415 + 200 cashout = +615, plus a pending 275$ bet on karo.
if karo comes through, i will have cleared about 1100$ in profit off a 300$ deposit. choice. i think hes got an edge that goes way beyond his -175 line. like, waaaaaaay beyond. thiago alves is a great striker with real ko power, but karo doesnt generally get ko'd easy and if he clinches with thiago, the fight is basically over. so basically i need karo to weather a storm and close distance then toss thiago on his head, sanjuro sugata style.

got 3 mtt's lined up for today; the prima leaderboard 1k freeroll, an NWP private 10$ tourn on stars, and i bought into the 100k lottery because the payout structure is so cushy.

h'ok... lets see here
cashed out from b. the 200$ a week rakeshare minimum is completely unrealistic; i played all day and the after scoring a quick hundred in a morning 5/10 LHE session, all they had spread was 3/6 LHE, some 1/2 and 2/4 NLHE, and a 5/10 NLHE game where the average pot was (not kidding) 46$ usually. so thats that. the rule is completely unfair and i truly believe that not only did i not play well with the pressure it added, but it also affected play on other sites. so fuck that, outta here. that money is going to bodog for the time being. im going to grind some low limit plo there and see what happens, plus they have incredibly juicy overlays on some mtts, but the price may be a bit much for a little while at least... we will see, we will see.
the HORSE tourn on stars went meh. i cashed out in 12th for about 60$, joined an NWP private tourn for 10$, and sweated some small mtt's with no results, so my roll on stars is 157$, which is -100 overall.
i cashed out of b with 300, which is -250 what i had a few days ago, and feel lucky to have been able to do so.
on prima however, things are going swimmingly. currently up to 675$, +100 today.
unsure how to proceed on stars. i will try to sat in to the 100 grand tomorrow. i might just buyin if things dont work out, depends how leaderboard MTT is going i guess.

ok. this is a hand i want to see a flop with on a super aggro table where people are potting pre with facecards and generally playing their hands face-up postflop. now, i would never draw to the heart flush outright on a 2 flush board, 6 high is useless, but for backdoor draws or as blockers, there is tremendous implied value.
say i flop a straight with 2 hearts and someone wants to go to war. either they have Ah Xh and want their money in before the flush ruins their action (so standard btw), or occasionally they just have Ah and think they know something about bluffing. also standard among people who have read a book or two but really its not profitable at most limits.
so yeah basically im looking for straight value or set value if i want to get involved in a big pot post flop. also im out of position, which sucks, but i only have about 8% of my stack involved and if i hit, i stand to make substantial loot, so short handed, yeah im seeing the flop.

awesome, dadbeatsme pots on the button, so standard, fine. this was a laggy game, a pot bet on the button pf meant almost nothing here in terms of putting him on a hand, he could have just had something coordinated.
millmaker, the small blind, does something typically retarded for these limits; he raises an additional 1.75$ to 4$. why? who does that? what hand could he have that he wants to build a huge multiway pot in? obv coordinated face cards, probably with a big pair, but with holdings like that, you really want to isolate preflop, which aint happening at this table.
anyway, i was calling the 2.25$, so im obviously calling the additional 1.75$. i call 4$, _ndugu_ who had limped in EP calls, and dadbeatsme *calls*.
wtf..?
thats the biggest failing at these limits i think, that people dont isolate pre. if he had repopped, i would have folded i believe. he would have been representing aces and paired hands play very poorly against aces, even double suited.
so yeah its a family affair.
and we get...
** Dealing the flop:

pot: 16$ with four players.
ok. i flop an OESD and backdoor flush. i can be absolutely positive someone has a spade draw. so if a spade hits, i have to abort. also, anyone with aces is potting here.
lets say one of those aces is a spade and hes trying to represent the nut flush;
anyway, things proceed in a way i find encouraging! dadbeatsme represents aces and/or the flush draw!

very interesting. although its possible that ndugu has a better heart draw than me, i think thats more of a defensive bet, or he picked up 2pr and thinks hes ahead in the race.
with a heart draw and an oesd, i have 9 hearts, 2 2's, 2 7's, and the 6d . thats about 14 clean outs out of 45 cards. there is about 110$ in the pot, 40$ to call.

ok, dadbeatsme's hand is rediculous and plays terribly against a multiway pot.
if he nails a 2 or 4 on the flop, very often hes going broke with an underset.
ndugu also has no business seeing a flop in a raised multiway pot. hes holding one
of his flush outs, plus the only board he can safely bet at is QTx rainbow. pretty much
anything else should terrify him if there arent at least 2 spades out.
on the flop:
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV

ok, dadbeats me is way ahead with middle set but its by no means an open and shut
case. hes in a really, really big race; hes flipping a coin on this flop. around 33%
of the time or something he fills up and wins outright, but if that doesnt happen,
every other draw you can imagine is well represented.
im actually ahead of nbutu tho, just barely but im ahead.
and on the turn;

i reclaim equity, i win a all in 3 way pot 1 in 3 times.
the river of course seals the deal. dadbeatsme berates me
for about 2 straight minutes then reloads, with hilarious results!
